A Council of Advisers + Sponsors Support Our Leaders
The WS Shuler Whitmore (WSSW) Foundation supports a WSSW Leadership Institute which has operated under the auspices of SAMAAP (La Sociedad de Amigos del Museo Afro-Antillano de Panamá/The Society of Friends of the West Indian Museum) since 2003. SAMAAP WSSW Institute Leaders (18 - 40-years old) are often in the early stages of their
careers and as such aspire to increase their knowledge, capabilities,
and skills.
Institute members are encouraged to complete an annual membership application documenting dues paid to SAMAAP, hours volunteered, gifts of services
in-kind, or donations made to community non-profits. Moreover, Leaders
may serve in Council-arranged Internships to gain experience and training.
