Our Council of Advisers and "Best Friends" Offer Support to Leaders

The WS Shuler Whitmore (WSSW) Foundation  supports the SAMAAP WSSW Leadership Institute which has been operating under the auspices of SAMAAP (La Sociedad de Amigos del Museo Afro Antillano de Panama/The Society of Friends of the West Indian Museum) since 2003.

SAMAAP Institute Leaders (18 - 40-years old) are often in the early stages of their careers and as such aspire to increase their knowledge, capabilities, and skills.

Advisers (40+), because of their expertise as entrepreneurs or professionals, are invited to join a Council of Advisers which actively support our Institute Leaders. Institute members complete an Institute membership application annually documenting dues paid to SAMAAP, hours volunteered, gifts of services in-kind, or donations made to community non-profits. Moreover, Leaders may serve in Council-Arranged Internships to gain experience and training.

WSSW Leaders Joshue, Danell, and Luis played with their Adviser A. Lynton and Jazz Guitarist P. Martinez for the WS Shuler Whitmore patriarch, retired pharmacist and business owner J. Williams when he visited Panama with H. Shine  in June of 2009.

Joshue spoke with C. McFarlane at the event honoring WSSW "Best Friend" Cecil Haynes.

WSSW Leader & former Panama Symphony Violinist J. Ashby performed at a banquet honoring Mr. Cecil Haynes.

J. Williams and H. Shine visited the Canal Visitor's Center at Miraflores.

In 2008, Adviser C. Gaines, Esq., was assisted by WSSW Leader S. Freeman as they offered a Rule of Law/ Social Contracts Program to all kindergarten classes at Torrijos-Carter School, Republic of Panama.

In the morning of Jul 18th 2010, WSSW Institute Leaders L. Morales and D. Hall took their strings over to the Catherine Brown Home.  The concert was held to the delight of the residents and in honor of Miss Daisy who reached the ripe young age of 100 days before.

Later that afternoon Danelle & Luis gave a private concert to Mr. Cecil Haynes and his wife in their home.

Mrs. Haynes enjoyed the concert.  She and her husband were recognized in 2003 as SAMAAP WSSW Leadership Institute "Best Friends."

FUNDACION ARNOLD WALTERS
